Have you ever had a conversation with someone that just sticks with you? On Thursday I had a beautiful talk with a friend about the power of positive. During the conversation she made a really great reference to a “backpack” and stuffing stuff. I liked it so much that I wanted to share it with others and elaborate just a bit.
We all have our own backpack filled with stuff that we “stuff”. It’s a great place to hide things like hurt feelings, loss, sadness, broken promises, and the list goes on. You know all those things that we choose not to deal with that weigh us down. Our backpack can become such a heavy burden if we don’t go through it every now and then and take out the garbage.
When was the last time you went through your backpack and decided to lighten the load? You have to power to make life lighter and easier by unloading some of the things that weigh you down in life. It’s scary because even though this weight makes us weary it also serves as an unhealthy security blanket that we hold onto for comfort.
I challenge you to clean out your backpack in these days before Thanksgiving. Make peace with the burdens you carry and fill your backpack with light and love. Positive is so much easier to carry than negative. Be grateful for the things you do have and surround yourself with people who inspire you.
Have a beautiful weekend! ~ Pamela
