Remember when you were a kid and the Holiday season was filled with joy and excitement? The Sears Christmas catalog would arrive and you couldn’t wait to pick out all the things you wanted Santa to bring you. Making cookies with Mom and decorating the tree…mmmm can you smell the cookies baking? Such a beautiful time of the year when you are a child…
As an adult I have been guilty of dreading the holiday season. It often feels like there is not enough time in a day to accomplish everything and the pressure to shop for perfect gifts is daunting. Scheduling times to be with family can seem overwhelming and impossible. There have been years that my house hasn’t seen one decoration because I knew that I would be traveling from house to house only to arrive home and realize that I would have to take it all down.
This year I have decided to see the holidays through the eyes of a child again. The tree is up and decorated and in honor of my beautiful Mom who always made Christmas so special the Snowbabies village is almost complete. Each gift is small but comes from the heart and I can’t wait to have a house full of family and friends enjoying good times.
The best part of this season is time with the people who make our lives beautiful. It’s a time to be cherished, enjoyed, and most of all grateful.
What can you do to make the holiday a peaceful time? Take a moment to just be…be present…be grateful…be happy!
I wish you all a joyous holiday season filled with much love!
